Lord sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, a sixteen century full incarnation
of Krishna popularized the chanting of Krishna's names all
over the India. He constantly sang the names of god, as prescribed

Hare Hare". This Hare Krishna chant or mantra is a transcendental
sound vibration .It purifies the mind and awakens the dormant
love of god that resides in the hearts of all living beings.
Lord Chaitanya requested his followers to spread the chanting
to every town and village of the world.
According to the desire of lord Chaitanya, Srila Prabhupada
spread the Hare Krishna mantra all over the world, every town
and village .ISKCON centers all over the world are conducting
Hari Nama Sankritian in their respective towns and
surrounding places.
ISKCON Rajahmundry has planned to conduct Hari Nam
Sankirtan in 108 towns and villages every year. This programme
is working successful in every place.
Today billions of people are chanting the Hari Nama and
are relishing the nectar of the holy name. Anyone can take
part in the chanting of the Hare Krishna mantra. This easy
and practical process of self realization will awaken our
natural state of peace and happiness.
VILLAGE PROGRAMME:
Village programme plays an important role in the spreading
of the holy name. When a particular place is decided a devotee
from our temple goes to that place and makes arrangement for
the programme such as publicity, pandal and stage setting,
Prasadam preparation etc. This he does with the help of local
people. Any local person is given opportunity to sponsor for
the programme. On the particular day 50 to 100 devotees (congregation
& full time) go to the place. From there they start Nagar
Sankirtan walking through the main streets and junctions of
the place, all the devotees along with local residents who
joined them, chant the Hare Krishna Mantra loudly. Devotees
sing and dance for the holy name all over the procession.
After about one and half hour of congregational chanting all
the devotees return to the pandal. After all the residents
and devotees take their places, ISKCON Rajahmundry temple
president Sriman Satya Gopinath prabhu lecturers on Bhagavat
Gita. It is followed by Prasadam distribution. Devotees distribute
books throughout Nagar Sankirtan programme.
